Day 7 July 24, 2016
Getting a late start from the Timber Inn and Marianne and Rainer’s hospitality grip, Rainer brought out his Motorcycle and we compared notes as Marianne was fascinated with Mary’s BMW and how this model was designed for women.
We were soon on the road to the famous Icefields Parkway with a destination of Jasper, BC. The weather since we left Kalispell has changed dramatically for the better with cold nights and perfect 60’s to low 70’s throughout Canada. We traded covering bare skin with lots of sunscreen to layering up with our warmer riding gear exposing nothing to the UV arrows from the sun giving us first class riding comfort!
With lots of glaciers of varying sizes all along both sides of the road there is countless streams and lakes with a surreal turquoise color that baffles the brain as the optic nerves send the signal, but the brain seems to reject the picture as unnatural!

The Brotherhood/Sisterhood of riding is something that is hard to explain. Most riders will give a salutation as they pass, not just “hello”, but as a “I know a lot about you my fellow rider”… I know that my brother or sister of
the road has made a conscious choice to live life feeling the temperature of the air, the smell of the earth in all it’s colors, the rain, the sun… we choose to be in the environment loading the senses and that gives us the reason to take the path less traveled…

Wow, gorgeous views. Love feeling the ride through your blog.

And, “trip of a lifetime” doesn’t seem to do it justice–just amazing.
